Old House Editor Gordon Bock to Speak at 40th Celebration

Old House Journal LogoJanuary 27, 2006 - Join friends to celebrate 40 years of Preservation in Greensboro at PGI's Annual Meeting on March 7th. Attendees can look forward to an evening of insights, awards, and recognition of Greensboro's Treasured Places. 

Gordon Bock, Editor-in-Chief of Old House Journal will speak to members on the topic of "Old Houses in the Twenty-First Century: Perceptions, Marketing, and Challenges of the New Millennium." Gordon will present a national perspective of the preservation movement to Greensboro, including his take on media relations, professional opportunities, merchandising, and mass marketing of historic preservation.

Old House Journal CoverAs Editor of Old-House Journal since 1991, and a contributor since 1984, Gordon brings a technical background in engineering and publishing to his work on the original magazine for the restoration and preservation of old houses. An adjunct instructor in preservation at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, Gordon is also a regular speaker, consultant, and author on building history and restoration, as well as residential construction. Recent book projects include Caring for Your Historic House  (contributing author) and SMACNA Residential Sheet Metal Guidelines (technical editor and consultant). Gordon lives with his wife Michele in an 1880s Queen Anne in historic Capital View Park in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The event will be held at the Starmount Forest Country Club on the evening of Tuesday, March 7th, 6:00pm. Reservations are required so please contact us before March 1st.
